Does titanium crack?

Now that its cold and I'm loathe to ride in 20deg. weather I feel its time to buy my Hayabusa some "groceries". One main purchase I've decided on is a Yosh titanium pipe. But before I lay out the cash I was wondering if any of you guys with a titanium pipe of any kind could answer a question. Is a titanium pipe less durable than other materials? Have any of you noticed cracks in your pipe?
Thanks in advance from

Titanium is a very durable material. Light weight and strong. It is difficult at best to weld on or repair. TIG is the only way I know of to weld Ti, and then, it should be either back flowed or submerge welded. It can take some tremendous abuse, but it will crack.

Hindle does a lightweight stainless system for the busa. Only 1 or 2 lbs heavier than a Ti system. Sudco also do light stainless systems but I don't think they have one for the busa yet.

Titanium is pretty britle. it has to be heated when bending past a certain point otherwise it will crack. It also doesnt disipate heat very well and usually requires heat treating/stress relieving after welding. We make Ti. re-ends for cars where I work and we treat those twice!

I have a Yosh ti system with no problems so far.

It makes you wonder how Muzzy can offer a Ti system for so few $$$. What part of the costs are being cut to offer a pipe at retail that is 30% less than a Yosh RS3 at wholesale?

The Yosh is very well made and extremely light.

The ability of the Ti to retain heat is a good property for an exhaust.

Do not use any heat tape on a Titanium system it will fall apart, literally cook it self to death.
