drag racing boots help

Sidi Drag boots. Replaceable sliders on the inside of the foot. I got a pair from Schnitz last year, but they aren't listed on their site anymore. Here is a link I found to another place that sells them, but I haven't done business with them so can't comment on that.

that is a good looking boot but with all money i am dumping in my bike and trailer not ready to spend 250 on a pair anything cheaper thanks

$250 is cheap for boots.......have you looked at road racing boots?
You won't find drag boots cheaper than that. I tried......

The Joe Rockets are fairly comfortable. I only have got to wear them 2 or 3 times since I bought them. They are lightweight and easy to slip on and off if you need to.

Why do people spend thousands on there bike to make them faster and to make them look 'better'.

But spend only a minor amount for there safety...

I just dont get it

allow me to say that after surviving almost 30 years of drag racing (boats, cars, bikes)...

skip the fancy floor on the trailer and buy the very best safety gear you can lay your hands on... that $100 you save wont mean squat if you ever decide to fall off the bike...

And as you are crashing? you really do have time to think about the stuff you are wearing that is meant to save your hide... :)

I guess "safe" is relative...

Steel toes are safe boots but the enertia of those boots when you go flying head over tea kettle is going to be a real thrill..

Racing boots/shoes for that matter are a blend of form and function..
When you go playing ragdoll at 100mph plus, every extra ounce of weight on the boot is going to count (maybe someone can tell you just how much)

But the steel toe is going to be a detriment when your foot gets hammered into the toe box area or you land a heel going backwards..

"Safe" is going to rely on the design of the boot you have on vs what it was designed for..

Perhaps A/Star (also a great boot) has something a bit more reasonable.. But stay away from a "work" boot IMHO.. the lighter construction (I think mostly due to thin soles) may pay off some day..

I think all you are required is an "over the ankle" boot but taller is better.. :) post up things you find

this discussion always makes me laugh....

"after spending $10k, $15k or even +$20k on my bike......i don't have $250 for boots"

priorities fellas, the $100 you are trying to save will not even pay for the ambulance ride, the x-rays...or even the time off work.

I think you can spend the lesser amount and still have a decent boot.. (although they are throw aways after a hard crash)..

The SIDI probably is a bit safer but I think more expense went into the "repair" part of the boot, you can fix virtually anything that gets damaged..

I own both and they are very much alike beyond that part.. (have not crashed either pair however)

so i spoke to don plessure the owner of pr and he said he has only a few sizes of the boots left.
he said this boot might not be available in us any more,i called schnitz racing to find out why they did not carry sidi boots any more the reply was ''they are not sure if they will be available any more from the company they got them from.
so i asked to be directed in the right direction any info would help she gave me the info for pro race gear(this is who they got their shipment from )and the first person i spoke to Dan Plesser .
i called and spoke to a rep from sidi they said pro race gear only used them to import the boots no further relation
i tried contacting someone from pro race gear but no luck.:whistle::whistle:

If you find anything else out about the Sidi's please let me know.....
I need to get some new sliders.....

i had another conversation with dan about what would be another good drag racing boot he pointed in the joe rocket direction.
he also stated that rickey gadson had involvement with this boot
he even went firther (which he didn have to do good guy) and gave kent scotts a call to find out if he uses the joe rocket boots and how they performed he gave them an a plus and for the price good (safe)safe boot

all the info i am getting on the sidi boots is in the negative so far waiting to hear from
some at pro race gear about them now

just spoke to a rep from pro racing gear not looking good on their end they don't have any sidi drag racing boots available.
reason being shipping into country
price going up on boots and so forth
even if they are going to be available you wont see them for months to come
thats what i have so far:whistle:
