Just giving a heads up in case anyone will be down there or headed that way. This will be my 14th year at the dragon and every year I go it’s just as great as great as the first year. What a great area. I wish I lived close but I wonder if I would love it as much? Uh yea I would. Lol. Bringing a couple of friends from work this year for a change. Neither have ever been so it should be interesting. Lol. Anyway I know I jumped ship but I still love the org and my brothers and sisters here. Except for rub. Lol just kidding man maybe you can stop posting long enough to come down! Anyway hope to see y’all there. I’ll be the guy on the green goblin with a smile on my face!

Now that my Busa is down with several issues,(no joy on cure's yet) I have more time to post.
Maybe you can pick up some Orgsters enroute to the Dragon. I was going to fly in one year.

One day I would loved to do the famous dragon Rubb stop looking at those boobies and go out and get something on 2 wheels

Well I left Sunday morning early. Started raining before I even got to Cincinnati. Didn’t stop raining till I entered Tennessee. Brought some friends down who have never been here before. They left on Wednesday but we made good use of the time and great weather. I took them across the dragon a couple of times and then I took them down the parkway and skyway on Monday. Tuesday we went down 28 to the waterfalls. I think I wore them out but I think they had a good time fore sure.

Stopped in at Wheelers garage for a suspension adjustment and some new front brake pads yesterday. Mr. Wheeler is having some difficulties. For those of you Who are not familiar with him Ken Wheeler is that a less then the equivalent of Mr. Scott to the Enterprise. There’s practically nothing he can’t fix or has it fixed at one time or another over the years. He had Back surgery recently and abused his L234 and five vertebrae. On top of all that he starting to lose his vision to the point where he can barely even see any longer. I’m sure it won’t be long before he won’t be operating the shop in any capacity. It’s terribly unfortunate. Plus he is suffering from some depression issues as a result of all this happening to him. So if anyone would like to send him a card or some thing and the way to encourage him or maybe even a phone call I’m sure that it would do a lot to make him feel better. God knows he’s helped manyPeople on the ORG. At the very least keep him in your prayers

So I forgot to mention that when I went to Wheelers I had a talk with Ken and well its kinda hard to say. For those of you who know him you know that the knowledge that he has about all things motorcycles is truly immense. He fixed my busa after I made a dumb ass mistake and Ive gone there every year for the last 14 years for one thing or another. Usually tires or whatever. Anyway Ken is not feeling well. Neither physically or mentally. He just had back surgery and they fused L2,3,4,and 5 I believe. Not to mention his eyesight is failing. He told me that he was battling depression because of these things and that he cant do the things he used to do. I cant begin to say how invaluable he is the motorcycle community down there. I wrote him a letter of what I hope is encouragement and to let him know how important to all of us he really is. Im sending it off tomorrow with a card. I just wanted to let everyone know. Im sure that there are a lot of folks here on the org that know him and have had work done. Probably saved several people. I would just ask to keep him in your prayers.

On another note. I took a lot of video down there. Put the gopro on the side of the helmet this time and didnt take into account the angle issues so most of it was crap. In any case I have a video of a rider that was in front of me and he by far has to be the worst rider I have ever seen. How he made it to Overlook is a complete wonder. I have never put much on youtube but I put this one up. I will apologize now for my profane laced tirade but I couldnt help myself. Im not one to overtly disparage another person but this guy is the exception,

So this is whats left of the front tire after my trip. I have put a total of 7k miles on this tire but this is the second trip with it to the dragon and I stay a full week each time I go down. These are Pirelli angle gt 2 tires. Its their latest evolution in sport touring tires. I have no complaints on the tires. Believe me they stuck like glue in the corners but after all, no tire last forever under dragon conditions and I have to admit, the dragon is my crack and I cant stop going back and forth ... kinda like a cat chasing a laser light....lol I have run Pirelli Angle tires in one form or another for years but when I replace these I really think I am gonna try either the Michelin power gp tires or the road 5 gt. I know I won't get the mileage on the gp tires but thats ok ... I guess I just want to try something else for a change ... Ive heard nothing but great things out of both. Anyone use these?

@jch364 glad you made it home safe. Guy in the vid seems like he was afraid of left-handers,but also sukked at turning right too.
I will be installing a 5 tomorrow or the next day. I'll do my best to give a review but don't expect to much...I corner like the guy in yer vid.

Stretched arm,330 rear, air ride suspension,turbo...the thing handles like krap. I think I have to push about 5 times harder on the bars than a stock Busa to get around a corner. It bucks and shakes and bounces, pushes wide and tries to throw my off all the time. I could be in a rodeo...as a clown.
Rubb.

Thanks rubb. It will be interesting to hear how those tires work out even on such a beastie like what you are on. And yea that guy was terrible ... It was like watching an impending train wreck. You dont want to see it happen but you really hope you have a video camera on when it does.

We missed out on a lot in the Pre-GoPro era. We've seen so much over the years. I wish I had my helmet mounted GoPro going when I got hit. Did the Superman over 2 stopped cars landing on the 3rd. THAT would have made great video.
Do you miss yer Busa Bro?
Rubb.
