Dumb quest: Pc3 usb

What are the 3 buttons on the power commander for? low, mid high. I know it's a dumb one, I assume it's different modes, but how does that work?

I have a custom map now and don't want to mess it up, and still learning alot. Will I get more power in each range by just making the it more rich?

if PC3 currently has a custom map, then my vote is to leave it alone (if it ain't broke, don't fix it)
