Earl, thanks for the tip about 4 oil changes in the first 1000 miles. I changed the oil at 190 and it was black. I spent the day riding and it was a new bike. My grabby clutch problems were gone, even the 5000 rpm vibration was moderated. I put another 200 miles on her today and the oil looks nice and clear in the level window. Why doesn't the factory recommend an early oil change. What a difference! I'm planning another one around 500 miles and then the dealer will hit it again at 800. I'm thinking that by 1000 I'll go to mobil one full synthetic.

Thanks for a very worthwhile tip! Anything else up your sleeve?

The oil will always be black It is Suzuki oil that it comes with from the factory.If you change it with Suzuki oil again it will be black in about 50 miles due to high ash content.I changed mine with filter at 200 miles and then put in spectroil 4 10/40 and then changed again at 500 miles with filter now it is every 1000 miles.But remember I do work at a dealer.
