Easiest/best way to lower front end?

I am going to go ahead and lower my busa. I want to run it at the track some and thought it would be helpful. I just haven't found much on lowering the front besides straps. Any suggestions?

you will need straps or you will probably bottom out your fairing unless you cut it down.

Straps are the best way. One, they pull it down farther than just lowering bushings or a triple tree. Two, all you do is take off the strap once you are done racing and you aren't affected in the turns.

Welcome to the board!

Is this a drag bike, show bike, or daily rider?

I have the top clamp and dogbones dropped 3"s all the way around.
I stiffened up the suspension and I ride everywhere.

Not recommended for rough street riding, trust me on that.

But you can use straps to get the fastest, cheapest, lowest all in one.

Give me some more info on how you use your bike

What about using front lowering bushing, like those available from Pingle? I was looking at getting the .75" lowering bushing. Daily Rider, backroads brauler, occasional drag racer...

*not meaning to H/J this thread, but wanted to put the bushings into the mix.

I am gonna be racing some....and i only mean some. Other wise it's my daily driver....but that daily drive is only 2 miles round trip. So not that far. But I want to race for sure. Just not sure what will work with both worlds........

Cat, great point with the bushings.

Super, I take it by race you mean in a straight line

I would get adjustible rear links (i think a board member makes them) and use a strap in the front.

This allows full adjustibility with minimal changing of parts.

If you decide that you want to stay low then invest in the triple tree (its not worth the money if you want to be able to adjust on the fly or you dont want to be low all the time.)

I actually just bought a set of rear links that adjust with a wrench like the tie rods on a car. I really liked how easy that would make it to just drop or raise the bike at any time anywhere. I just didn't know what to do for the front. I guess if I get straps I can just carry them with me and lower the entire bike once i get to the track. Might be smarter that way to keep what handling I have....NOW I JUST NEED TO STRETCH THE REAR A TAD:D

Right on!

I like those

The straps stay mounted to the front caliper and you force the front end down and hold the brake while someone else tightens the stap. (very easy)

As far as a stretch goes, I perfer a stock wheel base because of the flexibility.

But if you are pushing major power you will need it to keep the front down so you arent burning clutches and fighting the bike.

heavy....got a line up on who the board member is making the rear lowering links? And, I heard I should get a 3 position rather than adjustable...something about the adj. links breaking at the rod ends? (which I am sure if its happening, its limited to a certain make/model).

Cool

I have a 3 hole dog bone

The risk of parts breaking is the chance to have to take for that to be adjustible. No matter who makes it.
