Euro5 restrictions...

At least the aftermarket can offer full stand alone program management systems which will be pricey but worth it for the hardcore enthusiasts
There is that at least...

I think if the same people who are jamming Euro 5 down everyone's throats put their minds to it, they'd make those systems incompatible with factory engine and fueling management systems.

The good thing is they are not THAT serious about enforcing it...shown by the fact Suzuki is offering an aftermarket exhaust basically from the factory..

...but over 200 hp from a liter bike that's a hundred pounds lighter than a busa! See, this is why I'm expecting at least 225 from the Gen3 busa. If it can't do it, it really needs a turbo to be relevant in my book.
It really depends what you are using the bike for?

If you plan to use it on track days, it'll never be as nimble. However, if you plan to roll-race it is very easy to drop 100+ pounds from the Busa. If you plan to really stretch it's legs then you don't want to drop overall weight but improve aero which the Busa is already KING and still dominating in land speed. Everyone that is serious about racing adds a Turbo anyway. If you are making it an all around performance bike (jack of all trades), then it's still in a class of it's own at this point before and because of Euro5...

If worse comes to worse I'm going to put a standalone on mine. I'm gonna get rid of all these factory protocol and political restrictive agreements that they made to sell their machine over abroad.

They simply should've made two different ECU's, one for Americans and one for the rest of the world. They know we're going to modify, they know we like and enjoy the process of building the machines the way we want them to be.

They've given us such a broad platform to work from that we have become spoiled in the fact that we all like to change our bikes.

Oh, and we're pretty good at it.

Let's see what Brock, Frank, Chris, and the others eventually find.....
