Exaust Modification

Micron makes the most power, but not the best fit with regard to full systems for the Bus. Yoshimura has always had the best fit but are still working through design changes in the pipe due to poor performance numbers. ANY full system that works the way it should is going to require a remap.

I don't know whats out there for slipons but it'd be pretty hard for the maker to screw their fit up so I'm sure they're all good, and remapping is not quite as necessary, but still recommended regardless.

My opinion, save the weight (20+ lbs), go for the full pipe.

I am seriously looking at the new Sato exhaust for the Hayabusa, the finish is the best that I have ever seen in an exhaust.I have never liked Micron for the finish.Yosh rushed the first batch of exhaust for the busa on the street and saw poor or no horsepower gains. The Tri-oval is not worth the money,it only gives a 1% gain over the duplex.

I was wondering if someone from the been there done that crowd can recommend a full exaust system or slip-ons for the busa. I am mostly looking for weight savings, minor H.P. gain and a nice sound and fit and finish. Is this possible to do this without the help of the PCII or Yosh? The pipes I am thinking about are the Akropovic, Yosh Titanium Tri-oval. Any help from the forum would sure be apreciated. I enjoy being part of this forum you have saved me alot of time. Thanks

Hey bird of prey, I have an Akropovic exhaust carbon race system. The finish is great, the sound is great ,without the powercommander it runs fine, but it runs a lot better with power commander. I think they are all good, Yosh,Micron, get whatever one that lights your candle.

We have just dynod three busa today, first one had BMC airfilter, platinum NGK plugs and 6000km ++ on the dial, second busa, no trick plugs, BMC and 3000km++ last busa had a Yosh RS3 full system, BMC filter, stock plugs, slightly mod air box, balanced injectors and 1000 km++ on the dial....

Here goes, first one 153.3bhp, second 150.6bhp, third 160.8bhp. My personal opinion
the Yosh has an excellent fit and finish. Performance wise, a big question mark. Say, if the airbox mod gives 4hp, that means the Yosh is only worth 3hp or less. For a full system that is sad. Even with more mileage on the third busa, how much more can the Yosh give???

Being a past user of Yosh fine product, that is unacceptable, Yosh might get it right eventually, but how soon. Incidentally, a 10hp has been recorded from a Yosh on a TL1000R.

Danker,my bike was dyno in San Jose,Ca on a Dyno 150 and my bike is all stock except the morning before the dyno I cleaned the chain and replaced the oil and filter used Golden Spectro 10/40 and adjusted the chain we got 159rwhp.I couldn't believe it so did the tester. We did three passes and averaged 157,158,and 159 not bad for stock and I had 1902 miles on the odmeter.

Team Hayabusa can you send me a pic of your bike and pipe. I was planning on getting the akrapovic with the titanium can.
Thanks
