Exhaust coatings...

So... I bought an HMF dual low setup from a board member sometime around Christmas or earlier...I think (honestly can't remember when).

I finally decided to get the part out and do all the usually mods one does to the stock motor machines.

After looking the pipes over, although they were in great condition, I just wanted something other than that goldish steel look that the SS pipes come with.

I searched all over for anyone with info on where to go..but it was all deadends until I found a local race shop that knew what I wanted. Something to help direct heat away from the motor and help dissipate the heat quickly after shutdown.

I personally went with the shiny silver look (kinda chrome-like).
They offer various promises based on the color of the coatings you choose...there's black, satin black (clearcoated) and white.
It stays polished with simple metal polishes.
It's warranted to remain like this for at least a year at operatings temps up to 1300 degrees F.
Not too shabby for under 200.00 which coated all parts of the sytem inside and out except for the canisters.

Any scratches you see are actually in the steel itself..this coating is super thin and tough as nails.

Is that like the Jethot coating? When I order my HMF Dual high mount setup I am going to send it to Jethot. I have quote from them. A little less than $200 plus roundtrip shipping. They will do it in color as well.

cripple the site how?

those images are hosted off my personal server...so they aren't using the .org's space. Your link to my site might be in question...but I NEVER upload ANY pics to the the .org.

Hogger...you didn't powder coat the exhast pieces did you???

And it is very much the same this as jethot ....they just call it HPC (high performance coating) in these parts.

No, but I like that look on yours! Can't wait for the new look on your busa.

I just got this powder coated however.

Busacruise,
If you don't mind, how much did it cost you to get that done?

Don
Just a bit under 200.00 for the system...as I mentioned before, there are a few different color choces as well as temp ranges.

Here's a shot of it partially installed...I painted a bracket of two and got the block-off plates on there now.

I am currently fabbing the twin-fan setup so I can get the radiator back on as well...should complete it tomorrow.

and here's the PC kickstand I got from Hogger...

guess my standard one is for sale now...lol
I did a little more grinding on the shaft than what some seem to do...but I know it "locks" into place.

Anyone need an OEM stand...already modded for you?
