Exhaust Install

OK I've seen a lot of new exhaust installed on the 08's my question is who has done it themselves. I just took the right side cowl off the bike to make sure there was no hidden damage to the bike other then the wrecked FRP after my dump in the driveway. I always do all my own bike work, part of the fun of owning one and it looks like to install a new full exhaust you need to take the radiator off. For those of you that have done it yourself I'd be interested to hear if you did or did not.

I always just remove all the bolts and lay it forward. Make sure to put something soft on the fender so you don't scratch it.

Yeah I pretty much figured that is what I will have to do. Much easier to work on HD's nothing is covered up. Price you pay for speed and performance right.

They could make a naked bike with all the power of a full on sport bike....thats what the B-King was supposed to be. But as usual they neutered it to a degree

For some reason the bike makers feel that a naked bike can't have the same amount of power as a sport bike.....even if they share the exact same motor

I hate maintaining/working on plastic bikes.....and if Yamaha gets smart and makes the new V-Max with NO compromises in power I'll be all over it

The only reason I own plastic bikes is because thats where the power is. And screw that tuned for torque bs...motors this big already HAVE all the torque you need...you don't have to give up ANYTHING from the higher rpm's and peak power.

Dude,
I switched from HD's to my Bus in '06. I am so figgin happy with my Bus that I will never own another HD again.

Take the radiator and oil cooler all the way off, you'll be glad you did.
