Exhaust mods

Hey, guys I performed the exhaust mod. on my 04 Busa. Remember the one that required taking off the beauty ring and drilling (6)holes and replacing the ring. Well since then I have experienced some backfiring or popping at times when I come to a stop. I have also experienced some seem to be added power. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Have this happened to anyone else? And lastly what to do?

okay, this has been covered time and again, and it is true and works.......i have done it to my '04.

air box, throttle side(right side as you sit on the bike) there is a rubber hose, pull it off and plug it with something that cannot be sucked into the airbox (i used a bolt and then silicone), reinstall the hose, ride and ride and ride

you have just blocked off your Pair valve, a line that injects air into the exhaust to pass emissions. no harm done, it will smooth out the bike more than you can believe, no stumble off the line anymore.

there are several threads on this site with better instructions and even pics.

what happens to the pressure from exhaust gases still entering the pair system an' 4 rubber hoses , wont you eventually have trouble with them as they degrade even faster ? What happens to the 8 steel to hose connections, the sealing points of the valve, the sealing points at the head ? Thee connections at the pair? They're all under more pressure now.

but hey....what the fug do I know....

hav a good 1.....RSD.

What Rsd is saying, In a way only he can, is that it would probably be best to completely remove the PAIR and and bolt on some block off plates. Do a Websearch For PAIR Valve removal you should come up with an answer fairly easy.

As for the powergain? That will all be in your head, Especially with just cored cans. The worst restriction on the Busa is the midpipe so it doesn't really matter what you do to the cans your not going to get more than just a couple of horsepower. Nothing a SOTP Dyno is going to feel.
