exhausts

Power commander is not required with any exhaust system but allows you to fine tune the lean and rich spots, which in turn cleans up throttle response
(better ride quality)...I have tuned busa bikes(99-07)with a yosh box and had great results on the dyno & track for guys not wanting the extra cost or hassle...

I have owned a Yosh box since 1998, my TLR days, have nothing bad to say about it. I have tuned numerous bikes including my Busa.As long as I own this box I dont see the need for power commander, unless I go turbo or do some serious engine mods.

OK, I'm ignorant...

This Yosh box allows tuning the stock ECU to accomodate full exhaust and intake mods?

If so, is it still available?

Thanks,
Blue1

You might can luck up and find one for sale or your local sportbike tuner shop should have one...

Don't know where you live...but I recently had a local shop tune my busa with a yosh box. I installed a yosh full system - and it ran rough....they did the tune for me ($20 or so) and it's all good now!
Just my .02

Put tre on and don't have to worry about lean. Never had a dyno and will never have one. Dyno numbers are bs except to impress. Just ride.

Uhhhhhmm......TRE doesn't have anything to do with air/fuel ratio.

Dyno numbers are just that...numbers. But the information gained from dyno plots and the air/fuel readings can be invaluable, especially for modded bikes. It's a valuable tuning tool, and not just for peak numbers.

I think If the TRE changes timing, that would changh A/F too right? Retard the timing lean, advance the timing rich.I could be wrong, just thinking outloud.

Agree

The other option is tuning with a TEKA SFI.

There is a Factory Pro ( http://www.factorypro.com/ )Dyno tuner in the Chicago area that uses these for Suzuki FI stuff. The TEKA talks to the stock ECU and is capable of finer adjustments than Power Commander.

I had my stock '05 with Yosh slip ons dyno tuned with TEKA SFI and had a 11 HP bump. The TEKA itself runs about $500.00 but can tune any number of bikes because you unplug it when you're done tuning. It's a shop tool at the place I go for tuning stuff. All I paid for is the Dyno run. (Not the cost of a Power Commander).

I just ordered a Gen 2 Brocks and PC3 for my k4......Brocks asked me what mods I had and I told them I had an Ivans TRE and they told me to ditch it because it was killing my first and second gear....they said if I wasnt worried about the top speed limiter, I needed to get rid of it
