faceshield movement

Less than a month with my new ARAI Sinister and I see the faceshield on the left side is scratching the helmet when opening and closing...

Anybody else have this problem or am I being to anal

So far Arai has said that my faceshield post probably needs adjusting. And that the scratches should buff out.

Hmmm...I'm into almost $600 for a helmet that has scratched itself...For $600, I shouldn't have to buff shiit.

I'm thinking they can adjust it and buff it and if it doesn't look brand new...they can send me a new one.

If there is a warranty sounds like that should be workmanship. Shield does not follow the correct track.

Not sure who THEY are, I am assuming the people you bought the helmet from. But to me, sounds like a simple dealer swap out and THEY (the dealer) returns the damaged helmet to Arai  

. That's why I always buy locally, so if I have a problem with stuff (and I have) , I just return it for replacement. And with the local dealer I buy from, I've never had a problem

They was Arai themselves but you may be right, should try a complete return from place I got it. Hmmm...good idea.

Arai might be more of a pain in butt than the store.

For what you paid, I would definetly get a brand new one. Arai's aren't cheap, so that is a defect in the workmanship. Demand satisfaction.

thanks their stuff is a little cheaper than local after shipping, but unfortunately I couldn't find a shield for a CL-15.

Oh man! After seeing those pics of the scratches I was mad... and it's not even my helmet! Buff it? GTFO! You would think that an Arai rep would immediately tell you to bring it back to the authorized dealer. To tell you to buff it out is just ridiculous... but you already know that.

I hope this works out for you. I'd hate to see anyone get burned on such an expensive investment.

Arai should be responsible for the helmet getting scratched like it is, that is complete bulsh#t that a helmet that expensive and nice is getting scratched by the face shield. I agree that you shouldn't have to buff **** and should get a new one from them!!

Well sheet...packed up my helmet and off it goes to motorcycle-superstore. I love that helmet I will dearly miss it. Hope this gets resolved in a manner in which I am happy

To console myself, since I wont feel 100% till it's back, I figured what the heck and am sending off my gauges to bluegauges.

Oh well, maybe in 2-3 WEEKS I'll be back to full strength.
I am so not the patient type
