Fairing Protection (bottom, near front wheel)

Just wondering if there are any ideas out there to protect the bottom lip of the fairing (behind the front tire) from getting chipped up.

It is inevitable with any fairing.. just thought maybe someone made a cool little adhesive piece that fit there.

Or maybe a little herculiner?

Should be getting my 04 LE this weekend.  Thanks fitzy!

I personally went to my local M.C. shop and used a sheet of 12x24 3m vinyl (same shid) thats used for protecting the number sign (racing I.D. on side of dirt bikes), you know the big ole number plate you see hanging on the side of the bikes when they race.
Now you decide which ave. you want to take.

I need to get something for the front fairing on my bike. 185 mph bugs leave marks.

what about getting a sheet of this and cutting a piece to lay over the mirrored helmet visors, seeing as they will scratch so easily... hmm...

Good ideal, Scott, but this shid is pretty hard to conform to such a shape if you can get it too, and beside it has a tendency to be somewhat cloudy but should barely noticable after it has been applied.  On the other hand, using it on a chrome helmet would only amplify the cloudy appearence ! I guess becuase of the adhesive and air entrapment when applying the 3M transparent vinyl.

Just my .02 from experience dealing with the shid.

3M makes a clear stone guard that will work. I'm not sure where you could get it but it is like a clear sticker, good stuff.

Auto detailing shops, auto dealers, etc.  . Watch out cuz they'll try to hit you over the head with what they charge for the $hid and usually comes in small width sizes too
