FALL 2007 SOCAL GATHERING

Since I embarassed myself so thoroughly, so recently, and so publicly by replying to a post that was (almost exactly) 5 years old, with the excitement of a child; right here in front of God and everyone, I have decided to turn the lemon into lemonade (then add some vodka and see how that tastes).  Oh, I digress...

I'm thinking it's high-time we put together some type of busa-bro-dealio for a sunny SoCal autumn weekend...

This thread is being launched to determine how many people would be interested in attending.

Additionally, I am appealing to Lamb for ideas and assistance in putting together an exciting/attractive program that would give us the highest attendance possible.   (I suspect he'll be 'down' for it.)

As well, I would like to ask any of you who are more 'local' (than some of the other desired attendees) if you are willing/interested in (or could be coerced into) being part of a planning & execution committee.

It's gonna have to be in sept., oct. when it cools down a lil! Would love to do some Big Bear, Angeles crest and the mountains surrounding it! A San Diego ride is practically impossible! Not enough members, and the L.A. guys can ride their butts off! Maybe start in Palomar and work our way north doing Idyllwild to Big Bear over to Angeles Crest and out to Malibu! Oct. 7th or 14th! Those are both Sundays. Not set in stone, just a starting date!

Up till last week, I lived in Scripps Ranch, off Mira Mesa exit on the 15. Just moved 1 hr North to Lake Elsinore.

I still work at Miramar......

I'm down w/Lamb's suggestions...but I'm thinking that if we're going to attract folks from further away (NM, NV, Nor & CenCal, AZ, UT, etc.), we should do more than a day-ride.

Maybe we could arrange a block of rooms at an accommodating hotel with group discount rates. Any thoughts on this? We could do day-rides then have social-ish functions in the evenings.
