Fast Idle

Question for you experienced wrenchers and fellow Busa riders.

I finally got around to attempting to adjust my fast idle on my 03 Busa per owners manual.  It says set at 3,500 rpm with engine fully warm.  Fast idle (choke) maxed out at 1,500 from the getgo.  On inspection, the fast idle cable had been adjusted so that the rocker would not open to the set screw stop.  I adjusted the cable so the rocker hits the set screw, and fast idle is now 2,000 rpm.  The set screw has a thread lock paint dab on it indicating that the factory wanted it that way, I think.  Manually increasing the idle to 3,500 has the engine screaming at me and seems way to fast to start a cold engine.

Does anyone here actually start their engine where the initial idle is over 3,000 rpm?  If you bought new, where was your factory setting?

Leave it where it is for now. Try it out, the only ned for starting higher RPM's is the cold. I have never had mine as high as 3500RPM.
