Hi All,
I've been lurking and sometimes contributing this forum since December 2021 when I put my deposit down on a black and gold Gen 3, which duly arrived that same month to the dealership. Winter, family, Covid, work and other stuff delayed the big day, but finally today I took possession of this magnificent beast.
About me. I'm a 35 years old father of 4. I live in Hungary, work as legal counsel. I prefer riding alone, that's my "me time". My only riding buddy is my oldest, 7 years old son, who loves to ride pillion (fully kitted of course) on shorter distances. Each year I go on a 5 days tour on my own, for my sanity's sake. Can't wait to do it on the Busa.
This is only the third bike in my life, went from Yamaha FZS600 to naked Suzuki GSX S1000 to the Hayabusa. I wouldn't have though so, but the transition from 1000 to 1340 is comparable to the paradigm shift of going from a 600 tourer to a K5-derived 1000. Yes, the Busa is that good. After the niceties with the dealer I went for some curvy roads. Observing the break-in rules mellowed the experience, but I still had the time of my life with this bike. Effortless, comfortable, just glides at any speed. How can a bike of this size lean so readily? Love it.
So far the only mod is the bar riser from Moto CNC, that I asked the dealer to fit. It makes a huge difference to the riding experience and helps with handlebar clearance in full lock. A package is on its way from RG Racing, with frame sliders, axle protectors, kickstand shoe, tank grip. Will also order some drop pegs. This weekend I'm doing the kickstand mod and install Kriega tankbag coverter and tailpack fasteners. I'm keeping an eye out for EU road compatible mufflers and in the off season I plan to change the orange accents to red (hopefully swap with a silver/red owner), or yellow (wrap).
