First Busa, need some help

Just bought an '05 Busa with 3K miles on it. Bike was very well maintained and so far has been a lot of fun to ride. It does keep stalling on me when coming to a stop. Is the "choke" lever truly a choke or is it more of an idle adjustment? It will stay running if it is pulled to nearly full "choke" but I wouldn't think it should have to be like this when the bike is warm. Thanks.

you should only use the choke when the bike is cold to start the bike and avoid from stalling..it will help keeps the rpm up some till it gets alittle warm and then you need to have it down. don't use it when riding or engine is in proper temp. that might the reason it is stalling.
hope that answer your question.

Your idle is too low - should be 1150-1250... set it and your problem will disappear!

It's not a 'choke' only a fast idle lever to warm up the bike...check your idle speed...it should be at 1,150-1,200 rpm

You are probably at about 900...that would explain the stalling.

Had the same exact thing happening to me when I first got my 06. Pull your plugs and check them out. Mine were nasty with carbon build up. Took a soft wire brush and cleaned them up and haven't had a problem since. And my idle was at 900 also. Finally got around to getting that adjusted.

That's only a fast idle, not a choke. Adjust your idle up cause it's probably a little low.

When it's warm it does idle at about 900 rpm. I'll adjust that and check the plugs. Thanks for the help.

Welcome, set your idle and you will be fine. They have a tendency to back off every now and then.

Adjusted the idle and it runs perfectly. Thanks for the help everyone. Now to read the tech articles and get some knowledge.
