Hey Folks!

Don't actually have a Hayabusa yet, but it's looking like I'm going to be getting a red '07 on Friday. Trading my BMW K1200LTc for it.
I've been riding since about '82, but I've only had a handful of bikes. I started on a Yamaha 650 special, got a new Ninja 600 on '86, moved up to a Hurricane 1000, and then a CBR900RR before trading that towards the big Beemer in '04. I have a long commute (100 miles each way) but I've gotten tired of riding a couch. The Beemer is nice but.....
Anyway, checked out a few this past weekend and my only reacl chopice is the blue or the red.

One question of you happy Busa owners; is the bike actually water cooled, or is ity oil colled like the old GSX-R's? How will the Busa handle getting stuck in summer tradffic for an hour if that happens (like in New York's Lincoln Tunnel?)
Thanks again, pics as soon as I have her!

Jim,it's a well known fact that the black & blues are the fastest...and for the the Lincoln Tunnel, your gona need muzzy fan mod and waterweter.
And Welcome to the oRg!

Waterweter is for adding to the antifreeze, right? So, the Busa is watercooled and not oil colled?

Thanks

My '07 Busa is water cooled. It has a radiator, antifreeze, elec. fan control. When it kicks on in stop and go driving on a hot day, it can get to be a warm ride with that hot air blowing right at your legs, but the motor temp gauge never rises. Lots of CFM moves thru that big radiator when the fan kicks on. It will catch up and shut off in stop and go stuff, so I think it's designed to cool in traffic ok. You may have a sweaty ride though!

Cool, I don't want to screw up the bike before it's even broken in! I'll get some Waterwetter and be ready. Can't wait

Jim, welcome!  However, you gotta watch out for those guys in Dallas... they're wrong.  E V E R Y O N E knows that the Silver/Gray is the fastest color!!!

welcome! i bought a new 07 busa last month. all ways wanted one now 1500 miles later its the greatest bike ever.it will cook your leg in a traffic jam but the temp never gets past half way after the fan kicks on.besides a warm leg is worth the power

Well jim777 I am not going to feed you a line of crap on which color is the fastest cause everyone on here knows that the 1999 and 2000 models were the fastest off the production line but I will tell you this Bro if you know that you are going to be in allot of heavy traffic I would Get a muzzy fan for your Stock fan then I would find a GSXR 1000 fan that way you can run a dual fan set up as this will keep your bike running at cooler temps when stuck in traffic on those hot summer days. Then when it comes to coolant you can do one of 2 things you can get your self some engine ice or you can run water wetter both are great products. And that Sir is my 2 cents
