I bought a bike (Gray/Black 2005) and it had some minor scrapes on the right fairing. I bought some plastic polishing compound and it wiped away almost every scrape mark on the plastic (Novus kit with compounds 1, 2, & 3 from Amazon.com). I was very impressed with this stuff. It left a perfect finish.
There was one scrape, though, that was a bit deeper than the rest, and dug down into the core of the fairing- which is white, not black. Depending on the color scheme for that year, Suzuki will switch the core plastic color so that it isn't the same color as the outside plastic color. A white motorcycle has a black plastic core. A black motorcycle has a white plastic core (they make money on replacement fairings that way). Almost every motorcycle manufacturer does this (irritating!).
At any rate, I was wondering if there is some type of black plastic compound I can add to the fairing and polish smooth so that I can get rid of this white spot on my fairing (polished nicely though it is). Any thoughts?
