I'm planning on flashing the ecu next year.i was wondering how different my bike will drive.good or bad.please be as specific as possible.i like to know exactly what im getting into before i make any mods.

You flashing a Gen1 or 2?? What software do you plan on using?? Boost....Woolich....?? why not take the time to read the several ECU flash threads that are on this forum and see people's opinions/experiences having their ecu's flashed. This topic has been covered immensely on here and several other busa forums. I'm sure you will find all the info/opinions/questions answered

I just swapped and flashed mine. As for how different it will ride...it depends on what you do. Flashing it is not the same as tuning it. You can flash it to make many changes (remove top speed limiter, set shift kill times, activate nitrous, select hard or soft kill, change the rev limiter, etc). Other than changing the limiters...if you aren't air shifting or using nitrous....not much changes for just riding until you get into tuning. There might be some gains to be had through some of the other settings I'm not familiar with yet...but after just flashing mine to adjust what I mentioned above...I didn't notice anything. I plan to have it tuned soon.

That's where you adjust the fuel and ignition maps...and build a custom map for your bike..which is where the real performance gains can be found...depending on what you've already done. I'm new to this as well...so take it for what it's worth, but this has been my experience thus far. Hope that helps...

Have a plan and intention to flash. flashing to flash accomplishes nothing and its taking unnecessary risks. Quicker Gixxer is running a big motor and air shifting. I run a very similar setup all tuned via ecu editor/WRT/data logs/track time/dyno time. outside of removing the speed limiter (which for 99.99% of the gen pop is pointless) and using 5th gear timing in all gears, there isnt much reason to flash a stock busa unless you are going to go to a dyno for some fine-tuning. What do you have and what are you trying to accomplish?

You want full potential.....? take it to a dyno and get it tuned by a professional. That's about as full of the potential as you can get

I've heard a flash wakes up a bike some. I wanna flash my 02 turbo I heard I can benefit from it, not as much as a full tune with the bells and whistles. Budget and bike don't go well but I'm trieng to make it work.....

if you want any actual results you need to take it to a reputable tuner and have it properly tuned. having your ecu "flashed" doesnt mean anything if the time isnt spent properly setting it up.
