FMU Shims

I am looking for a .010 shims to replace the .005 shims in my fmu. Can anyone tell me where to get them?

Just get a new FMU from RCC.

Grainger or an Industrial supply company, ask for .010" shim stock. Cut it to size with tin snips, dress the edges.

You can also get repair kits on FMUs ie Cartech RRR FMU for $35.00 Other mfg. have this as well/

You can also buy parts from Bell engineering(Real Begi FMU's). They sell the shim for a dollar on their website(bottom of the page). They have alot of other parts you can buy to rebuild your fmu also. In addition they have section that will help you spot a fake begi fmu. Thanks for the replies. I got some .010 shim stock from a machine shop today. Richard at RCC said that the .005 shims bent due to boost I was running and recommended .010 shims.

Once I put a .010" in mine, I never had another problem with the FMU.

I replace the 2 shims with .010 shims. Fuel pressure is set at 43psi. When reach full boost fuel pressure is 105psi. Is this way too high? If so what can be done?

if you see the pressure to high then you can adjust the bleed screw to lessen the rise of the fuel to the boost

To back down the boosted pres turn the little screw on the fitting on the fmu counterclock wise just a little movement makes a big differance move no more than a 1/4 turn at a time
