??? For Show Use Only ???

I just recieved my chrome chain guard from Spyderracing and it has a sticker on it stating that it is "For Show Use Only".  Is this just an attempt to release them from any liability of possible damage or injury or are these not safe funtional parts for the bike? Not trying to be petty here, just wondering if anyone has ran into any problems (such as damage to the chain) running a metal guard like this as opposed to the plastic factory one.

no problems here using a chrome guard.
who knows someone might have sued over the master link breaking but it was the chain guard that was the real culprit, and it caused the mayhem that destroyed there engine. yea i can see that happening with todays society.
just joking.
i really think you will be allright with the metal guard.

Mostly it is because of state laws and the tag displays (especially the fact that the brackets come without lights)... they put for show use only so that you can't blame them when you get a ticket...
