For you @sixpack577

Cool, the numbers sound right too.
187whp on the '18 I ride that he dyno'd.
(he said he could make the same hp with the full M4 that this one has as the Pentacarbon does too).
'22 is basically the same bike, and the 8 extra whp would be coming from the MR12 fuel.
I promise it's more fun at stock wheelbase though, lol

Lol. I think Arch is onto something! Even funnier is showing up to a bike night and seeing all the stretched, chromed out bikes and yet they have tshirts, shorts and some alpine stars race boots

Back on track.. I saw one of these Matte gray 1ks this week on the showroom floor and while I wouldn’t do that color I kinda do still want a 1k. Thing is I’ve really been looking at the new Street Glide too…. Decisions…

@sixpack577 I moved us over here in order to avoid further hijacking the Gen 3 thread...

When I think of Kerker and Kawasaki I think of this...

During my brief racing venture, I was sponsored by Yoshimura and semi-sponsored by Suzuki (they paid for my bike and I could use the factory pit crew). I was also sponsored by Bristol and Shoei....

There were a few of us that had semi-factory sponsorship...one guy who I was friends with had a Kawasaki team bike and Kerker sponsored him...I remember the huge Kerker banner he had to display everywhere. I think the Honda guys had Kerker as well...their V4s sounded awesome.

One of the other guys had a Yamaha FZR750 factory bike with Hindle sponsorship...

We all ran in the same circles-chasing each other.

You were a lucky guy! I’m envious.

I was pretty fortunate in those days....I did alright in races but couldn't gather many points as I was often pulled away by my real job.

I eventually had to quit racing as the op tempo picked up and I seemed to be deploying more and more. Suzuki let me buy the bike (it was outdated and not competitive anymore anyway), I kept that bike for many years and eventually sold it to a collector who had his eye on it...I kept the cover it came with and use it on the Bumblebee...it actually fits.

A guy I raced with is a local guy and he took over the bike dealership his family owns but they no longer have the Suzuki franchise-I used to get my race bike (and my street bikes) serviced at his family's dealership.

Nice!
I showed up to my first race (1998) in a 1974 Volkswagen van, then I upgraded to a small trailer I pulled with 1995 Ford Taurus. LOL Pitched a tent on the concrete paddock. Good times...LOL

I had an old Ford Econoline van which my buddy and I would use to take the bike to races...we had a couple tents and army cots...I had extra tires on rims with different sprockets and chains for certain tracks along with more carbs jetted for different tracks stuffed in the van, sometimes it was a tight fit. When I got out of racing and still had the van, you just couldn't get the bike smell out of it......the van was first to go.

We had to run on street tires and Bridgestone sponsored Suzuki so I got free tires at least.

The bike had a lot of factory deletes, no lights, speedo, left handlebar switch, no rear foot pegs, etc, etc...when I bought the bike back, my friend whose family owned the bike shop found all the parts I needed to make it legal...the problem with riding that bike on the street is my racing muscle memory kicked in all the time when riding it...I was really lucky to still have a license...

Econolines were great for the motorcycle racing circuit back in the day, still a great option for the privateer life, same deal in Motocross to. Very popular, now days I see lots of sprinter van, which are also nice you can stand up in them.

I only road raced for 3 seasons, motocross took over my life after that which is part of the reason my GSXR 600 sat for so long. That said in the short time I road raced I quickly learned that with limited funds I put everything I had into tires and brakes. Racers, especially in the amateur classes completely underutilize their brakes and fresh rubber at a proper inflation can make up for that guy next to you on the grid with his/her fancy suspension and other useless bike mods. At the amateur levels it's mostly about the rider. Fresh brakes and tires on a stock bike can win easily.
