I got a 05 busa and my left fork seal is already leaking, the right one is fine. The bike has bout 18k miles on it seems to early for something like this to happen. When i bought the bike i bought the suzuki extended warranty. I just took it to the dealership today they said they would let me know on cost wise? Wat do u guys think?? Like how much would it be if i didn't have the warranty?? Thanks guys

I have one leaking now as well - 12K miles

I talked to GP Suspension and they say it is typical for Busas to leak after 1 1/2 - 2 years. The seal is designed so it relies on the rubber to maintain pressure against the fork due to the way the rubber is molded. After a 1 1/2 years or so, the rubber loses its "tension" against the fork and allows for dust do get in there and thereby allows extra wear that causes leaks.

I am lucky enough to live 15 minutes away from GP suspension and have someone that will loan me a Pitbull front stand so I can take the forks off myself and just run them over to get rebuilt.

I am going to get it resprung, revalved, and completely rebuilt including polishing/deburring the forks, new seals etc etc... OTD for $550 -$600.

Then they only charge $20 to set the bike up for you and your riding style.

Trust me... these guys know their stuff and if anyone lives in the Northwest or is interested in shipping them their forks:

I guess I will start keeping a better eye on my front forks now to check for signs of leakage.

I dare mine to leak.cause when it does,it gets 1.0 kilo springs.I can wait.I'm at 10700 on the clock.

how does this work? I must be missing somthing.

Me and james just finished tearing mine apart waiting for seals. The bike has 19,000 on it . cant wait to get it finished

My left one leaked at 11k just under the 1 year wire. got covered but $200 sounds about right. mostly labor it would seem. up here its $60 an hour. i wonder if the 08 fixed this obvious problem.. should have been a recall in my opinion with all of the people i have seen with the problem...

We tore down the forks on RKABusa's bike in a very short time. 50-60 bucks for the seal change with parts and new oil. Piece of cake to get apart epecially with the "Special" seal popper Keven made!
