THIS IS A NOTICE THAT WAS POSTED ON THIS SITE BEFORE I TOOK IT OVER. I THOUGHT IT WAS AN INTERESTING READ. I FOUND IT ON THE INTERNET TODAY... THIS LETTER IS ALMOST 8 YEARS OLD...... CAP
Hello all...
There are many of you who have sent along some really great messages or good wishes and I wanted to make sure to send this along to you. For a multitude of reasons, I have decided to NOT re-establish the Hayabusa.org website. This has been a difficult decision to make and one that I had to take a serious look at before making up my mind.
The primary reason is that my wrist is needing to heal after my surgery and I feel that riding will not allow it to do that. As a computer professional, I work with my hands and cannot afford for the wrist to not heal correctly. Additionally, with the amount of work I have to put into our own company and at the company where I work, I have decided that I have to put the family first over what was essentially a hobby. I hope that you folks can understand that at this point in my life, I feel like I need to spend more time with my family and get my wrist back to better health.
I'd like to say that I've honestly enjoyed most of the moments running Hayabusa.org, although some of them have been very trying. I've gotten to know a large number of really good people and sincerely appreciate the friendships I've made as a result of the site.
In accordance with the wishes of many, I have tried to find someone that wants to carry this on AND has the means to do so...this is a very big point to make, as the site is huge and eats some serious bandwidth. Once I have sent this data along to someone, they generally do not reply or send along a "No thanks" message. To that end, it looks like the site is pretty much dead.
There were an equally large number of folks that ask that I don't pass or sell the site to LABusas...I've done my best to honor that, but if they want to step up now and take it, I think that the information staying on the web would be a good thing. I honestly think they do a good job over there...it's just a different environment. There's no doubt that those guys have some serious fun...
At this point, I have one more option on someone that might be able to take the site over and I will contact him.
Finally, I have decided to sell the domain name so that I can recoop a little of the costs that I have incurred over the course of the site's life, but it will not be ridiculous. If you're interested, let me know.
That's about it, folks...thank you again for hanging out and making Hayabusa.org what it was and might be again under the right person.
Remember, ride safely...BUT FAST!
Regards,
BigDog
