Thinking about getting these sliders for my Busa. Two concerns...Strength  and stamina. Will they take an impact without snapping off of the bike and will they last in a slide or will they get ground down to nothing. Any and All suggestions and opinions are appreciated. Pics of currenty installed and reccomended sliders welcomed as long as slider brand name accompany them ;) (So I know what i need to go Buy)eBay Bobbins

Never saw them before.  It's a crap shoot. I got a set of sliders for my old TL from a co. in Austrailia, I only saw picts of them on the internet and I lucked out, they were made really well, they were also $100.  The ones your looking at seem pretty inexpensive .  Remember, 9 times out of 10 you get what you pay for.

Run away man... i posted this question before. Guy showed me a pic of his bike and the bobbing had bent back into his fairings. So instead of having to get a paint job he had to get whole new plastics. Ill see if i can find it for ya

Big no-no. VERY BIG NO-NO! Just take a sec to think about it: A bolt about 1/4 in thick is going to support a 500+lb bike. Very unlikely it will. Not to mention the added force when the bike hits the ground and slides. I wouldn't be suprised if they snap in two seconds.

Get yourself a set of these: CF P&L Sliders Have them on mine and they feel like they'll take a good hit.

I think he was tryin to get around cutting that oh so precious plastic. Thats the only reason i dont have them on mine yet

trust me, bro. The process ain't all that bad one you do it. Jest like Rythm says: "Ain't nothin to it but to do it."

You're gonna be kickin yerself in tha ass when you have a garage tip-over or if some A**HOLE pushes yer baby over in the parkin lot.

Just take it slow and it'll turn out just fine.

dont know man with my luck ill probably be on ebay in a week looking for new plastics. probably something ill try after i get some tools and get really drunk

I had the same fear my brotha', but as PacB said just take your time. Measure to find the center, remeasure and then measure again. Be careful with the cuts starting small and stop to verify the fit before expanding the cut. Or you could just use the holesaw and go for it. Several techniques, but takin' your time is the biggest key. I've got the same LP Carbon Inlay sliders as PacB and love 'em!

Yep...what Big B sez, him. Just take yer time and it should all turn out.

Oh yeah...one other thing: I would strongly advise against mixing alcohol with precision cutting. It's kinda like trying to mix sulfuric acid while bouncing on a trampoline.

Nothing good can possibly come out of it.

Reasearched it and saw a silly puddy technique. Ill have to try it when i get the ends.

WOW I knew there had to be a risk to it ( Which is why I asked ) but DAYUM! That pic answered any and all questions I had. Looks like I'm gonna be a Fairing cuttin' fool. I WAS trying to get out of cutting my plastics but not at THAT Price! Thanks for the info.

Just for the record, I posted that picture and that was NOT one of my bikes. I found that picture while doing research on sliders.

I personally don't like the looks of hacked fairings or the thought of high impact forces nailing one portion of the frame/motor mount.

This is what I have on my bike, it's a sweet setup but they'll set you back $250 to $300 delivered and no one in the US carries them:

I KNEW asking this board was the right thing to do!!! There will soon be 2 Blue and Silver Busa's with these sliders installed

I was still cringing at the thought of putting a hole in the side of my scoot even after I decided it was the only way to go. THANKS Turbo!

Now i've heard that these sliders arent the way to go becasue they are not braced by anything so they'll bend goin down and your plastics is still jacked. I think something was said about have something extend out from your frame creating leaverage. there was a post about this one two a while back. I think its called how much would you pay ....frame sliders without drilling. Was a pretty big post should have a look at it before you decide
