Frame sliders

Hey everyone, I was looking for some advice on frame sliders. After dropping my bike after the break-in service and scratching her nicely I thought they may be a good idea. Everything I have read tells me they are a good idea. Some look real cool too. They look easy enough to do yourself. Only problem you have to cut fairing don't you? How do you go about that, how do you get the nerve.

Frame sliders are a great idea! I am getting convinced though that folks don't read because there is all kinds of info on frame sliders on this site. Threads that show where they are and are not to be placed. Some that talk about no-cut sliders and some that just show pics. Not tryin' to slam you, Busa05, but the info is there on this topic and a whole lot more if you will just look for it. Sorry for the rant.

Its all good. Im pretty new here. There is gobs of great info on this site. I have solved a dozen problems because of this board. Usually i try and find an old thread. Again soooo much info. Just thought I could catch someone an pick you brain. Sorry about beaing lazy

No problems, bro! And like I said I wasn't trying to slam you, but let you know that the info is out there. I wish it were all in one place or thread, but only in a few instances is that the case. Here's a couple pics to show you where they are mounted.

Mostly only save you from damage caused by low speed spills, tipovers, etc. For everything else it will just minimize the damage.

Sorry no pic's yet, I am getting the Votex sliders. Just over $50.

Hey. You should include slider type (maker). I reconize BigBSBusa sliders in the first pics they are LP sliders.

Nice stuff everyone.

Hey i just wanted to say to any who are procrastinating about cutting the fairing and putting a set of what ever brand you want on! But get em on! you won't be sorry!!! And thanking your lucky stars if it tips and hits the ground, floor, road??? The ones i have cost $9.99 a set on Ebay. Pro-Tek I got 2 sets, one shorter than the other. The left side (2006 model) takes a longer one to make it functional! if same length is used on the R-side it will protrude too far and look strange. So the diff lengths worked out just fine, another set for spare. The 2" hole they say to cut was too big for my liking, so i used a 1/4" drill bit, drill in area, found the center of the fwd/top eng mount then used it as a router bit to cut and nibble till it was just rite!!! The R-side hole will have to be a bit bigger because the mount has an allen head pinch bolt you have to snug after the slider is in place and torqued. The fairing has to be able to be pulled out a bit to do this thru the vent. I see there is some confusion on where these go! Wow i would be going postal if a shop told me to mount them where i saw one Busa brother have them!!!
