Can somebody suggest some framesliders for an 06 that doesn't require any cutting of the plastic? Thanks!

Cool. Thanks for the info.

At first I thought the link was a joke, but it's not... lol!

i hated the idea of cutting my bike. if for any reason you do go down, you'll thank yourself if you cut plastics & get ones that mount structurally to frame.

Everyone gets the jitters when it comes to cutting their plastics..But just bite the bullet and get it over and done with..

Just take your time..

Don't forget the golden rule..

Measure twice..Cut once..

I'm too scared to cut. I'm not much of an "artist" and I have sh1tty handwriting, too!

You big girl's blouse..

Several ways to make sure that you do it correctly.

I put it off for nearly a year before I tackled it..

Honestly..No big deal...

LOL!

But... I really do suck bad at anything technical! I'm awful, man! If I had sliders put on, I'd get a guy who knew how to do it... yeah, I'm a lamer for that! I just don't trust myself!

I'm like Cole Trickle in "Days of Thunder".... "I don't know a lot about cars, ok."

But I can ride/drive!!!

Sometimes you gotta take a leap of faith...
I took a leap of faith by riding my busa home from the dealership after being off a bike for about 6yrs.... but, yeah, I did it. Without a motorcycle license/insurance just to get the bike home. That was "trusting myself". But cutting up my bike on my own when I do not have the slightest clue... that scares me!

I DO want framesliders, though... I'll probably get some put on this summer. I just don't know the best ones to get yet. I'm looking around.

Very easy and worked like a charm.

If you read some of my first posts here on the org, from April of this year I was talking about not doing ANYTHING even remotely mechanical or technically to my Busa because I felt I wasn't capable. A few weeks later, with the phone support of fellow .org member BrendanP, I taking a sawzall to my 06 Busa to install an undertail.

I know someone on the group who has the no-drill sliders. But too many people say they are not the way to go, so I stayed away.

I'l agree that the frame slider install is a leap. I plan on doing mine and I'll use a combination of the laser and pointy bolt methods.

Good luck.

I had my man Smithers do mine for 30 bucks...and MAN!!! Perfect cut!!! I would rather a professional do it than myself

Would someone (or a few) be willing to gently lay their bike on its side to show us how the sliders protect the fairing from hitting the pavement? I'd like to see some pics.

ROFL!!! they do not stick out far enough to protect the whole fairing I dont believe, busa is very wide. I know the cans will touch the ground if it goes down. the sliders protect the fair to a certian extent... since the motor is offset to the right about 1/2 - 3/4 an inch my right slider sticks out more than my left by that same amount, the slider is there to protect the expenisive things. pretty much it protects everything that would total out a busa if it went down without them.

One, I assume you are kidding (I'm not sure with you anymore) and two the ones that don't require drilling are very expensive and will likely fold up on you to boot. With drilled sliders, which are much more affordable, you can simply buy new slider ends to attach when you burn up the old ones.
