I checked the domain registrar and this is owned by the NRA. It appears completely legit to me.

IT services at NRA say it is a legit domain, below is the whois but the NS entries are different, other than that, identical to NRA.ORG..

Changing subject slightly, they have an excellent Firearms Museum there for free. Totally worth going to if you're in the area.

Yes it is, I called NRA direct and spoke with the IT dept... this is actually an internal domain space that they opened up to the public for a few different programs.. (why the NS entries are different)
