I have a 2001 busa. My battery went dead. I charged the battery in the bike with a car charger. I thought i left the charger on trickle mode, but I didnt. When i came back after a couple hours I saw and smelt that I left the charger on quickstart mode with a high amp. Now I have a problem with my fuel pump not coming on when i power up the bike. I already changed the computer because i thought i fried it.That was not the problem. Now im trying to find out what else i could have burnt out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like you need to inspect every circuit for melted or frayed wire. Start at the battery and work your way out. Check the fuse panel and make sure everything is ok there too. My first thought is as long at the key was off, everything behind a switch should be ok, but you cant rule it out. Welcome to the oRg.

The first thing you need to do is get a new battery...more than likely you boiled enough of the fluid out to kill it, and the fuel pump won't prime with a completely toasted battery. Either way the batteries done

If that doesn't work check your fuses next. And get a bike charger...they're cheap and will save you alot of headaches down the road
