No burned plastics yet with my BDE GEN III bro. It's not because I haven't ran the dog shiot out of it and got the pipes hot. The head pipes are cooked to a nice golden color now from the heat.
Just make sure to adjust your BDE system for the recommended clearance everywhere and you shouldn't have to worry about baking your plastics.
Hehehe... You won't believe how bad ass the BDE system is.
Just take your time and prefit everything like the instructions say. Mine went on painlessly. And the headers are works of art! Soooooooo schweet that it's almost a shame to hide them with bodywork. If it wasn't the awesome busa bodywork going over them I'd almost leave it off.
man I can't wait...got a carbon can also......I kinda wish I woulda got it earlier....but ahh well...now I have time to install it along with the other stuff I have planned.
I started the disassembly....and already ran into a problem...the bolt that holds the rear of the header on (bolted through swingarm)
there is a square bracket overtop of a square nut...it started turning underneath this cover. I tried wedging a screwdriver in there to try and stop it from turning with no luck...I gave up cuz it was dark and my garage has crappy lighting so I'll wait for tomorrow. Any suggestions on how to get it out?
I couldn't get my damn airbox off....I had the clamps all the way loose and I was pullin and pryin on the damn thing...finally got it to break loose and it popped right off...I needed to take it off to pull that hose off the #4 throttle body.
anyway I have a q for you anyway...I'm too lazy to go and do an search so what is that copper header heat sealant you got? And where do I get it?? NAPA? Autozone? Orielly's?
