gages go wacko

Yesterday after I went for a little ride, I came back out over an hour later only to find my clock and odo on, temp gauge in the middle, and my gas gauge was as far up as it could go. I started the bike and it didn't change. I pulled the dash and unplugged it. It went back to normal with in a min. Why?

You have a 12v shorting the circuit and keeping power to the gauge cluster.....

yeah sounds like a bummer, did you wash it or anything?

No, just messing around with my HID setup. BTW, I figured it out.

Can you let us know. There are quite a few of us with guage problems since installing HIDs.

I thought you figured out why the HIDs were causing it.

No as soon as I saw that the gauges were messed up, I went and cut out the HID system and put it all back to normal.
