Galfer lines & Gixxer mirrors *w/PICS*

I installed my Galfer front and rear brake lines this morning. Stainless lines with a translucent red plastic coating.

I've put SS lines on several of my past bikes and I never cease to be impressed with how much performance you get for so little money. Also of note, this was my first time using SpeedBleeders and they worked perfectly. The whole job was relatively quick and easy but for the fact you have to remove the entire busa tail section to get at the rear brake fluid res.

HELLOOOOO! SUZUKI?!?!

I also installed a pair of '02 GSX-R600 mirrors to replace the factory "condom equipped" stockers. These new Gixxer units are wispy, sporty, and afford a better rearward view than the chunky OEM units.

Enjoy!

Very nice! I have a set of carbon look mirrors just like those and I think that PUIG windscreen is great. Thanks for the pics!

I hate to tell you this,
but you don't have to remove the rear to get to the cylinder, just remove the shiny allen key bolt near the res'
then remove the little joiner between the two sides of the rear tail section and also the screw inside the rubber bumper on the right hand side under the hump and near the ECM.
Then just pull the right side of the rear tail section outwards and you have full access
Worked for me!

Thanks for the kudos guys, I'm very happy with the way they turned out.

Yeah, you can get them in just about any color you want for no extra charge. I ordered mine from CycleBrakes.com-

http://www.cyclebrakes.com/

They are a Galfer distributor and they fab line kits in house. So I was able to order the front lines .75 inch over stock to make up for my 3/4" Genmar riser. As for the rear, the line seemed a little long and routing it above, not below, the arm keeps it up and out of the way (for when I'm using my rear work stand for instance).

I tried to keep the tail section on by removing some hardware and spreading the halves, but it was too tight and I didn't want to risk cracking the plastic, FWIW.

The new lines and mirrors look real good.

I just put the lines on mine also, and I had the same complaint about removing the tailsection.

I used one of those vacuum pumps to bleed the system It worked pretty well, and let me do the whole job alone.

I wonder about the stock mirrors. Are they suppose to be more aerodynamic or something?

Take your bike up to about 180 and tell me if the mirrors give any.

Where did you get the mirrors from and do they mount right up???

I'd guess the stock, rubber booted mirrors are more slippery at uber high speeds, but what the hell? It's not like I live at a buck fifty, know what I'm saying? If I make an occasional high speed run and the mirrors move on me some, it's not that big a deal. I'll just readjust.
