Galfer or EBC Rotors

I'm going to spring for some rotors soon and would like to get opinions on either Galfer or EBC X series or XC rotors.

Anyone using them that can give some insight on likes or dislikes of any rotors mentioned above?

Thanks in advance,
TTT

I need to order some a well, I've got a vibration as soon as I apply my front brakes.

Unless you are a hard core road racer who developes massive amounts of heat, why would you want to upgrade your rotors? The stock ones stop just as well from my experience. I have tried the fancy wave rotors and personally found no difference in performance. :dunno:

The stock rotors are just as expensive as the after markets from the prices I've seen.

Really it comes down to personal preference on which one you like better. Asking people to talk about rotors is like asking people to talk about oil.

Go with the one that you like the most and you will not regret the choice.

Well I am not as versed or as experienced as Tufsbusa so take this with a grain of salt.

I was looking for better braking on the busa because I felt compared to other bikes she just didn't stop as well as I wanted.

I did Galfer rotors front and rear, a EBC HH pad (I think), motul 600 brake fluid, and some stainless steel lines.

After all of this I am very happy with the stopping abilitiy of the bike and while I never tested stopping distances I know it's a much quicker, shorter stop.

My two cents......

I did the same thing without the Galfers and it made a big difference. I then upgraded to Galfers and Galfer HH pads. Love the look and they feel great. Little is any change in performance. Overall I think it is 90% the pads and lines.

There is also that wallet factor. Spending the money makes your brain think the bike performs better!

The Galfers look fantastic!

You are absolutely correct. Galfer and EBC are both a bit more expensive but not much as I recall. If your rotors are past their prime and ready for replacement I too would prefer one of the above over stock. However, I certainly wouldn't replace a perfectly good set of stock rotors with wave rotors just for the bling.

I see EBC advertising a new lightweight rotor in Motorcyclist mag this month. Could be worth a peek?

I bought an extra wheel without the rotors. I priced out the OEM rotors which are about the same price as EBC and decided that if I was going to spend the money might as well get wave rotors.

I think I'll give the wave rotors a try. I like the Galfer offer of the free rear rotor but I'm gamed to give the EBC's a try.

I've got plenty left on my stock rotors, some how they got tweaked when a shop had my wheels off checking the bearings, so now I have a pulsating brake lever when the front brakes are applied.
