Gasoline odor

Busa08

I plan on selling my 2008 Hayabusa fuel tank and I don't want to ship it smelling like fuel (UPS might not ship it). Does anyone have any ideas how to kill the odor besides airing it out?

It will be hard to take it right of the bike and ship it. How long has it been off the bike?

I shipped a gas tank a year ago right of the bike just drained packed shipped.
No problem,True story but that's up to you. Good luck

Search for LEL Killer, its a liquid that controls all vapors. I work in the pertoleum field and we use this alot when we pull old tanks. If it were me id pull the fuel pump and just wash it out with water and dry it real good, have done this many times on mine.

Drain all the gas, let it sit for a few days with no cap or pump in it. It will air out. Then tape all the holes up with duct tape.

Wrap it up in something soft, Then place it in a plastic bag seal it then another plastic bag seal it.

Let the tank sit for a day or two with cap open to air out the odor then do this step above. I did the same thing and shipped the tank via UPS w/o any plm.
