I have a 08 and the gear position will bounce around as i ride. I've read that the sensor can be cleaned but I am wondering if i should just replace it.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Mine used to occasionally after sitting over winter when I was on a Royal Purple oil kick. Since switching to Mobile 4T I have never had another issue.

I bought a new sensor the other day when the the weather warmed , went for a ride and it was worse than ever. bummer
i noticed Suzuki rolled the part number so I guess they realized something was wrong

Mine did that a few years ago right after I took it out of storage. It was funny the gear possision indicator would show the next gear about the time I came to 4500 to 5000.
It was not causing any other issues with the bike so I did as sugessted at rode it about a week in warmer weather. It went away on its own after a few more chain cleanings. I would start with cleaning sensor after all it is easy to get to.

I was under the impression the sensor is on the RH side behind the clutch basket on the gen2 hayabusa. Am I wrong?
