I got one of these about 6 months ago and have not looked back since. It is still cranking like the day it was new. It is very small and light as well.
I have a walmart AGM for a gen 2 in my gen 1. It's an inch taller but it fits. It changed the dynamics of the seat a little. But it works. 70 something bucks.
I have another walmart acid bat in my 500. Been there since summer 06. It just crapped out on me last month.

This is what I have on my bike Yuasa Battery, Inc.YTX12
I read about my battery at yuasa.com (Yuasa Batteries :: Battery Types).
It stated that my battery is a maintenance free AGM battery. So that means, if my bike flickering and making wewird tacking noise when I turn it on, it must be the charging system is bad. Am I right?
The person at my local shop told me to open the seal and stick a toothpick to see if there is any acid liquid in it, if not then it is dry and need to change the battery. However, since it is AGM type battery then you will not see any acid liquid in it, correct?
I saw there were three different type of Amp/Hr. The link you gave me for the top of the line with 18Amp/Hr.
