Has anyone out there tried the Gel Seat the Suzuki makes for the Hayabusa?

I am considering buying one and wanted to get some feedback first.

Thanks

Xen: I used the search feature for "gel" and found this old post with some good comments for you to read:

Unfortunately Dirty Pete gives this seat a low rating because:

"I figure the ideal seat should have a little poop pocket in it because if you aren't poopin' your pants every time you get on your Busa, you're missing the whole point of having one."

I got the gel seat a ways back, because I'd heard good things about The Suzuki seat for other models. By the end of two hours or more, the stock seat had my behind sore and sweaty-wet. The last 45 minutes of long rides was spent day-dreaming about replacement seats, seat covers, etc.

The Suzuki gel seat is GREAT. I'm no longer thinking about other seats, my behind feels fine after hours on the road, and the slight bit of texture in the 'carbon fiber' material allows just enough air circulation to keep my jeans from gettting sweat-soaked. And, it looks good on the black/gray bike.

Richard,

Thanks for the 411 on the seat. I have ordered one and am looking forward to trying it out on a long ride along PCH.

Post the results when you try it, along with your weight. Weight is the determining factor if it makes a difference from stock or not. I haven't tried the bike on a trip yet, but I don't think that even the most comfortable seat in the world is going to afford you not to stop every 2 hours or so. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't last 3 hours even on my car without stopping.

Strange how all our experinces are different.

I have a custom fit Corbin on my cruiser and a 4 hour ride is painful (even with breaks every hour). Note the Corbin replaced the stock seat which was even worse.

The same 4 hour ride (same roads) on my stock Busa seat with 1 stop for gas is effortless. It is the most comfortable seat I've ever owned.

Valklex is probably right about body weight being the determining factor. I weigh 157 lbs.

Also, I stop every 90 minutes or so, to stretch the legs, and let blood flow to the genitals. That's supposed to be a good thing. ;]

I agree with CaveDweller. I took 2 days to ride my 'Busa from Tacoma, WA to San Francisco last year and felt fresh. Only a few stops for gas (at 50 mpg). My other bike is a Goldwing. The stock 'Busa seat is just fine with me.

P.S. The Goldwing is for sale!!!
