Oh cool, those mirrors are situated under the grips right?

School me on engine balance please. In my mind, the primary balance with an in-line 4 should be good regardless of of displacement. Two up / two down. But I'm thinking for some reason that the vibration will increase.

Do you off-set grind the crank to get this big? Different cylinder block?

No, it'll remain a zero balance on the crank. The vibrations you speak of is more from harmonics of the flat plane crank, that's where the balance shaft comes in. I'm not 100% on the science of a balance shaft but it for sure works to dampen the harmonics. Yes you are correct on the piston and rod weight as far as balancing itself out with 2 up and 2 down. The lighter the better in that aspect for how quickly the engine will rev. As long as all pistons weight the same and all rod ends are the same weight you are good to go. The cylinder block I'd imagine will have to be clearanced to clear the big end of the rods.
