Gen 1 1999 Busa gear position indicator

Hi,

I have a UK 1999 Busa registered April 2000. Is there an aftermarket gear position indicator that I can use most of the time I can't remember what gear I am in.

My 06 doesn’t have one either so I depend on my rev counter to tell me what gear I’m in. I sure appreciate it on my Kawasaki though.

Some people have done the dash mod were it illuminates each digit on the tach to indicate which gear you are in. Here is one of the threads on it:

I dont have a good picture of it, but I got this one off fleabay and it was plug and play! For $50 it was a bargain! The CNC Aluminum mount I bought elsewhere and had to do a little dremel work to it, Less impressed with it! I slapped some Carbon look vinyl on it trying to make it look decent...

We also have a gen 1 engine/trans in a race car but need a gear position indicator. Can a gen 2 gear position transmitter be fitted to a gen 1 engine? After that, we can transmit the signal to our dash/wheel...
