If i do a full photo walkthrough of a Gen 1 cluster LED change with parts list and full instructions would anyone be interested?

All i need is to get ahold of 20-30 PLCC2 Blue LEDS from amazon or ebay and i will do a step by step tutorial for everyone then. Im pretty decent at them and have a few pinned on other forums (car forums) Done the full research on doing the mod and should have no issue making up a nice in detail tutorial. Not this thursday but next thursday I will order them up and do the mod that weekend then since there does seem to be interest :-)

Post a step by step pic tutorial. I always feel that those are more beneficial than a video because sometimes you may miss something or need to go back and hear the instructions again and it's a pain to to that on a youtube video :banghead: much easier to sit a laptop or phone in front of you read and look @ pics while working @ your own pace....

Will make sure it's super detailed. It should only be about 20.00 in LEDs. The tutorial will be about 3 weeks out like I said. Can't order them till next Thursday then I need to wait to have them shipped.

Hey GIXERHP, i read your write up and loved it, but i figured i would do the full tutorial since i havent seen a full one yet. Nice job Btw! Also, i did see everywhere not to pull the needle and to unsolder the motors, but on your thread i did also see a rest

"To reset gauges, press and hold button above odometer, turn key to on, let guAges sweep, let go of button, press button 2 times, guages will flutter, done!!! May take a few times to get it right"

RC1966, i will be using the factory board and unsoldering the old LEDS, to replace them with the new style PLCC2

The re set will not do it correctly, the re set is if the gauges get stuck!
The only way to correct it if you remove the needles is to send it to Blue Gauges for a re calibration.

Sounds good GIXERXP. Didnt plan on putting the needles anyways, using some solder wick only takes a few seconds to remove those motors lol. Thank you for clarifying the reset though!

Im doing my Gen 2 soon and ill post pics soon also!

China has smiled upon me and the non-working tracking number has finally been delivered. 50 PLCC-2 BLUE LEDS are here. Should have a nice pin-able walk through in the next few weeks!
