gen 2 fuel system on gen 1

I was considering a nitrous system for my 2k, and really like the gen 2 8 injector upgrade, i want to use a later model ecu and rotor anyway and wonder if anyone has done a similar swap, and what tips they might have, is it possible to keep my throttle bodies and swap the rail? what about airbox clearance or fitment? Also the external fuel pump and going to a later tank to use 2 pumps if that is possible?
The reason i ask all this is once you start tweaking it never stops I'd like to be ready to flow more fuel from the get go than play catch up later.
