Gen 3 Moto GP Shift Pattern

Good evening guys,

If I wanted my Gen 3 to be reconfigured for gear changes to be in Moto GP configuration being 1 up & 5 down is this a simple change to make with the stock rear sets and hardware or is another part/aftermarket rear sets needed to achieve this ?

I believe you can but need to flip the QS/shift rod around. I may be wrong though.

Appreciate the response and info, after starting my post I saw the question had in fact come up before under the “similar threads” so apologies on asking the question again. From my quick read through I believe you are correct and a certain amount of adjustment/fine tuning is also required for everything to work correctly such as the quick shifter.

I just picked up another bike that has the Moto GP Configuration so my reason for doing this was for both bikes to be set up the same way so I didn’t have to think about this going from one bike to the other as I’m fully aware of the potential for a disaster in the event of accidentally downshifting at WOT when the intent was to upshift and would prefer to avoid this at all costs - lol
