My new Gen 3 Busa (160 miles on the clock) has trouble with going in first gear after i shifted into neutral. i have to release the clutch and try again wich works all the time, but is annoying. everything else works, no slipping gears either with the quickshifter nor manually. any advise?

I've asked on reddit too, and i got 3 other owners with the same issue who told me they release the clutch a bit until the first gear goes in smoothly, is this kind of normal? The Hayabusa is my secound bike, my first was a GSX-S 1000S so i am fairly new and the Katana never had that problem.

I have the same issue on my Gen3. I have 3300 miles on it, and it's completely stock. Sometimes at a light if I go into neutral while waiting for the light to change, I can't get 1st to engage. I've tried rolling it forward, backwards, re-engaging the clutch etc. with mixed results. The only thing that works every time is to keep my food on the gear leaver and release the clutch about to where the bite point is and it drops into gear. Really frustrating on a new bike.

It is a constant-mesh gearbox, not synchromesh.

It is what it is, get used to it.
