Gen II Fuel pump good for 230hp

I did a static test on my 08 stock fuel flow, at stock pressure (43psi) it flows 1350ml/min or 1.35 liters a minute.
It takes 5.7cc of fuel a minute to make 1hp @ 12.7 Air/fuel ratio. SO some 2nd grade math...
1ml = 1cc so: 1350ml/min = 1350 cc/minute. 1hp = 5.7cc/minute

1350cc divided by 5.7cc = 236.84hp@ 12.7 A/F ratio.....so 230hp!

I was considering boosting my 04 busa.....and that was the same info I found. It doesn't seem the stock pump will handle anything over 230 or so. But I know on some in-tank pump systems, you can mod the built in fuel regulator to get more psi out of the stock pump. In fact GPW posted recently explaining how to do that to a busa pump in the general section I believe? I'm boosting up my 14 (got a deal on a system I couldn't pass up :laugh: ) and even tho the 14 will handle up to 250 or so with the stock fuel system, I'm upgrading to a modded pump to stay safe :thumbsup: Fuel is your friend with boost ;)

sure it could, with a FMU you could make quite a bit more than 230 hp.

What!?? DO you how a vane type fuel pump works? More than 230hp? It's posts like this that spread BAD information, do us a favor and don't post misguided incorrect information.

I believe smithabusa probably has a pretty good idea of what he is talking about... He has stayed at a Holiday Inn Express on numerous occasions to say the least..:laugh::bowdown:

Well I had a complete memory lapse yall, or something, I was think stock onjectors are good woth a good pump and pressure regulator

And I agree about posting bad info, a big MY BAD LOL

From the dvd I saw on the new bike I do recall hearing it had a larger pump than the gen 1s

I just did the regulator crush mod on my wifes 05 up to 55 psi to cope with the new mods and a 50 shot

Again sorry yall, had a rough week and temporary retardation :)
