Gen ii question

Installed my Gen II and cannot get the bike in gear without killing the motor- even with the clutch lever pulled in. I have checked to see if the inner plate is moving-it is- and it - i believe touching the top hat. Any ideas???? ??????

Ahhhhh very funny young grasshopper!!!! it is "wired" up. All I have done is take the multistage out and followed the instructions on installing the Gen II.
