genII questions

I have owned a ZX14 and have a concours 14 that I am selling to get a Gen II Busa. I have a couple of questions:

#1. How does Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) work? are the second set of butterflys computer controlled or with your right hand? are these the same setup as the "flys" that I had to remove on my zx14 that really did not help it?

#2. If I put a smaller front sprocket on it will it effect the speedometer?

Front or rear sprocket change will affect the speedo. You need a speedohealer to correct it. PM Pashnit, he sells them.
There are several threads on the STPs too, it's been discussed alot lately. Apparently though in stock form, the ZX benefits more from there removal than the Busa. They are computer controlled too, servo motor on side of throttle bodies. I removed them on my 08 and prefer it that way.
Check out the ECU Editor from Boostbysmith.com, site sponsor. Awesome, better than a power commander in so many ways for only $208. It has STP adjustment, fuel, top speed de restrictor, raise rev limiters, countless possibilities.
You'll be amazed at all the info you'll find here.:beerchug:

the editor seems like a great idea if you have a dyno and a O2 sensor

Gen2 has an O2 sensor. Dyno tuning is always best, but there are alot of folks doing cool things without one. To those that really know how to tune fuel injection, they can make lots of changes without a dyno.
Any map Smith has from previous dyno runs are free too. So if you have a similiar setup, they are a great platform to start with.

sorry I ment a sniffer on your dyno, of course to do it right you need to be in front of the cats

You can tune with the ECU Editor with stock exhaust and see improvements, but all aftermarket full systems don't have catalytic convertors anyway.
There's countless threads on all of this stuff, and alot of folks that can give you very detailed info on it. As you find out more about it, I think you'll be very impressed with it's capabilities and ever improving possibilities.

thank you

looks like I just sold the Concours, now to start shopping

I also sold my ZX14 for a B-King, and then a Busa.

The Busa engine and gearbox are much more refined than the ZX.

The Busa ergos are more stretched out then the ZX, but that is very easily fixed. Indeed, the way the Busa bars are mounted gives you a lot more options than the ZX for comfort mods. You can fit Helibars which lift the bars and move then back, and you can also fit a spacer under the bars to lift them even more.

And, if that isn't enough, you can fit dirt-bike style bars which make it (almost) a tourer.

Plus, the aftermarket for the Busa is about 10 times the size of that for the ZX.

Enjoy.

#1. How does Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) work?

It allows the throttle body bore to be sized for max power at high rpm and helps torque at lower revs. It also was primary reason that the Gen1 Busa flapper valve in the airbox was ditched on the Gen II .

"" emission/noise on the flapper ""

Ok this deal just got better, it was advertised on craigslist as a 2008, and I was good with that, under 50 miles and under $9k. but I was just going throught the paperwork and double checking numbers, the damn thing is a 2009! happy camper here.
