Go right ahead

Took the '06 out today.
40cc's less but with 2 up on the rear sprocket, ECU flash and quick turn throttle I can't tell a difference in power or acceleration.
Brakes are lacking and because it's slightly lowered doesn't turn in as well but I like the mpg gauge that the '19 doesn't have.
The '19 feels more refined and solid and safer, whereas the '06 feels like raw power and says "If you want to kill yourself, go right ahead".

I know my '99 inside out and back to front, and I've ridden a number of Gen 2's, and I found they are quite different in the feel of the chassis handling, the Gen 2's carry more weight I'm sure, but the Gen 2 power delivery is smoother and they are awesome to ride also!
I really enjoy my old Gen 1, it's been really easy for me to adapt to and ride within it's limits safely.
I so wanted a Gen 2 for a year or two, but that desire has waned some, and now I'm just gonna work on my '99 and refine the old girl as my budget allows . . . in the end I just couldn't see the need for having two Busas, so I bought a decent dual purpose dirt bike, a DRZ400E, to go have some fun on, off road!.
