I’ve just put an offer in on this little gem . . .

Seriously though, I’m always amazed at the pricing of properties in the US.
My place is 2 brms, 25 years old with double garage and it’s $100k more than that 4 brm place . . . I think we get ripped off here

I hope they pay accordingly over there as well kiwi. Ive seen some of the prices you posted on things and thought how there would be no way I could afford it with what I make. And for what i do i make decent money compared to some if the other shops around.

Like @WuzzaCBXRider said, it’s a mobile home, so what you are really paying that money for, is the land. My aunt recently retired and bought a 1200 plus square foot mobile home for $40k with the small lot included in that prize here in Florida. They can be setup really nice when done properly and putting the brick around the base, instead of the cheap siding some use to cover the open space at the bottom. My only concern would be how well they would withstand hurricanes down here or in Texas.

I’m lucky to make $1000 a week here as a mechanic, 40 hours, so it’s probably similar to what you would make, but every foreign tourist I’ve spoken to here says it’s sooooo expensive to live in NZ, but that’s the price you pay for isolation I guess.

I get paid every 2 weeks as a mechanic at the largest power equipment dealer around and at 40 hours im lucky to bring home 1400 every 2 weeks after taxes. But like you said everything there is costly so id guess that's around the same. Of course I still have the 3 kids and wife taking from my busa fund so I don't get ti see very much if it:(

If that's a mobile home, then the roads in Tennessee must be pretty wide !
Just kiddin', I realise the 'mobile home' status for a dwelling as large as this . .
I'm thinkin' it's a great way to get around paying building consent fees etc?
We do the same here, but on a miniature scale compared to you guys in 'the land of the free', NZ is so small compared to the US we have to manage our population and land requirements for housing vs agriculture (for trade on the world markets) quite stringently.
